First pukeViews: 389

Tuesday was my second chemo, and I thought this week was going much better. I wasn’t nauseous in the least bit. But last night, luckily I was in the bathroom, I was getting ready for bed and it just hit me. No forewarning, no maybe, just full force puking. Ick! I’ve been feeling better today again. I’m very tired though. After work and radiation it ends up taking almost 2 hours to get home with all the lovely Houston traffic. I told Robin one of these nights I won’t make it home because I’ll get road rage and then they’ll cart me off to jail…Just 19 more radiation treatments, 3 more chemo. I’m almost done, right????

Modern marvels…for every symptom I get from treatment, there is a pill. But let’s not forget about all the side effects from the pills. For example, my constipation is back with a vengeance. Dr says to take an OTC laxative/stool softener. I tell my doctor my bladder hurts, probably bladder spasms. She gives me a scrip for something to stop the spasms. Well, guess one of the side effects of that-yes, constipation! Fun stuff!

I’m off to bed. Hopefully I’ll get some rest.

XOXO

I am sorry. It is tough. You are right. A pill to help one thing causes another problem.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hugs,
Joyce

It’s been a bit since I’ve been by, but you’ve been in my thoughts. I’m glad to hear you haven’t lost your fight and your sense of humor (cause you’re right, how ridiculous is it that you have to take a pill for the side effects from another pill!)and that you’re hanging tough. But I hate to break it to you, they give chemo in jail too!

I have been EXACTLY where you are now 3 1/2 years ago ..my only advice is and the only thing that worked for my nausea/vomiting…and the 14lb weight loss in 17 days and the absolute anxiety (not fear) that plagues your every thought….was medical marijuana. I know it sounds crazy but I didn’t have to take ANY medications other than for diarrhea (which marijuana is not known for anyways)...gone were the anti-depressants, anti-nausea, anti-vomitting medications that take over an hour to start working…please ask your doctor for it. MOst importantly remember that God is holding your hand all the way and that this is your test and YOU will pass it..and I now I know nothing can beat me….because I beat cancer! I just found this site….and I clicked on yours for some reason…so I will check back in on you often and will pray for you and your family everyday!
God bless you and NEVER forget GOD loves you and is helping you right as you are reading this Praise him ! ps chemo/radiation suck!
