Back to work againViews: 625

Tuesday I went back to work. Just part time for a couple of weeks, then back to full time. Everything seems to be going great. I feel like my old self. I’m still pretty weak, and I get tired easily, but not as bad as during treatment. Its great to be back. Hopefully I get to stay a while. I told everyone if anything else happens this year, you’ll find me in the looney bin.

It was a nice holiday weekend before I went back to work. We went down to the beach for 4 days. One of my brothers came down from Utah to visit. We had an early first birthday party for my nephew. In all of my excitement, I planned everything! I stepped all over my sis-n-law’s toes! She forgave me. My nephew was sooo cute at the beach. To be little again and have no fears…He would crawl straight to the water. And if you didn’t catch him, I’m sure he’d keep going. He would get knocked over by a wave, and he never cried! I’ll post a few pics later.

My first check up is Sept 23. I’m a little nervous now. I know I’ll get more nervous when it comes around. I don’t know if they’ll do a pelvic exam. After radiation they tell you to use a vaginal dilator because the tissues harden and shrink after radiation. Well, the dilator hurts! But without it they wouldn’t be able to do a pelvic exam. Hopefully it will get easier.

You’re back at work. That’s great, and feeling like your old self. I can’t wait to get through this year and get back to work.
I spent my weeknd in Tahoe. Tried to relax before my 1st Chemo treatment. I will pary your check up goes well.
Wishing you good thoughts.
Sonia

Congratulation on your first day back at work! It must be a good feeling to be back and have somewhat normal routine back again :)

How sweet is that. Good for you.

Congrats on being able to get back to work. Good for you! That’s great. I can understand you being a bit nervous. I know though the leukemia is in remission (June08) it is still dormant in my body and could becone active anytime but that isn’t even a thought that I eill allow to think about. I ret really gard to eat really healthy, take vitamins, but I do have difficulty in getting enough rest though I am working on it
Good Luck,
Patty

Hey Lisa; so happy you have gone back to work, to be with your co-workers and to get involved. I am not working, retired, so that is one thing I do miss, however, I really like retirement too. No stress! Just remember you can’t do anything about the next appt. so as hard as it might be, try not to place too much on it, cause you just may be pleasantly surprised, and if so, you will have done a lot of stressful worrying for nothing. God that was a lot of words…..
Take care and hopefully you will report good news to us all. Weezie

I forgot to ask you what you mean about the dilator? Is that like the speculum they use for a pap smear or is it less sterile than that? I just can’t imagine doing that but guess it has to be done, if they say so. You really are a gem. Please please stay in touch as the days get closer you will need our help to walk the path. Thanks for being there for me too. Weezie.
