Last week I went to work half days, and it was a breeze. This week I started full days. So what do I get? Overtime! But luckily, yet another storm is headed our way, so we got to leave work “early” today, and no work tomorrow. I put quotations around early because we got to sit in traffic with those who are under mandatory evacuation. We (I carpool) left at 2:30 and I didn’t get home until 6! Its usually only an hour when traffic isn’t bad. But, Mon-Wed I didn’t get home until almost 9 each night from working late. That’s just how it goes though. I’m amazed at how good I do feel! I still have some issues to deal with…will I ever have a normal BM ever again?!
One of Paul’s last posts was about changes. My eureka moment was realizing that the changes aren’t so big. I have more patience for some things, and zero tolerance for others. All things that used to be the opposite. I’ve changed. Just not everyone can see it. I still like the same things, I still do the same things. But there is a love and appreciation for everything and everyone that wasn’t there before.
Hopefully we won’t lose power and I can catch up on everyone’s posts this weekend! Big hugs and lots of love to all!

Glad to hear you made it through the long car rides. It’s nice to know we can manage the leftover debris Cancer layers our paths with.
Patience, I was born with so much and now, I sit gathering it as if I need it for kindlewood.

Having watched CNN most of the day, I wonder how you made it home at all. What do you do when this is happening regarding your own home? I imagine it is pretty scary. I love thunderstorms but I think this is quite differenet. Not so glamourus. You seem to be up and at it with gusto so that is a great sign. I have a trick…. Eat black licorice for your BM, it works every time. Better than prunes or drugs. Now that you are on the road to home from work, what on earth are you going to do about the flooding and wind? That must be worrisome. I pray that your area is not hit like predicted. Category 4, if indeed that is what will happens, what are you preparing to do? Just interested because this would not happen up here, just snow storms…. Take care. Weezie
There’s not much you can do really. We’re a little over 100 miles from the coast, but expected to get lots of wind and rain. We’ll put the yard stuff up in the shed (patio furniture, trash cans, etc). We’ve got a good amount of food and water stored. We have a generator if needed. Closer to the coast people will board up windows. Like you saw on CNN, getting out is the smart option. I also have papers and id’s for all of our animals. I’m a little embarassed to say that I don’t have all of them microchipped yet. I guess next week I’ll take care of that. My worry is the wind. I live in the woods, in a mobile home. Flooding shouldn’t be a direct problem for us.
I suppose its similar to being prepared for a blizzard. Hopefully having enough to get you through.
