First check upViews: 625

I had my first post treatment check up on Tuesday. Nothing major. Just a look and see. Everything looks normal. I go back in a couple weeks for some bloodwork to determine if I start hormone replacement therapy. Robin tried to make me laugh on the way in to the doctor, but it didn’t work. I wonder if the anxiety will ever go away. My heart rate was 112, and my blood pressure was pretty high. But I survived another visit.

On another note, I got to play with a tortoise at work yesterday. Some of the surgeons were out all week, so we were really slow. The avian and exotics dept needed someone to babysit the tortoise while he was getting some sun. He was 75 pounds. An amazing creature!

Love and hugs to all!

XOXO

Hi Lisa,
I’m trying to catch up on your post, but I’m still behind.
I’m glad you got through the follow up visit ok and I hope the test in a couple of weeks come back with really good results.

I couldn’t help but notice the photo of your horse. I have horses too and I just love, love, love them. I have not been feeling good so I haven’t spent much time with them and that makes me sad. Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day so I will just plan to go out there and brush them as long as I can.

Hugs to you,
Wendy

Check up anxiety usually starts building with me near the two week mark ans fades about a week after. I go from the what if mindset to the what next mindset. This is a time of dark moods and short tempers. My family knows my cycle so they are very understanding.

Does it ever go away? Not for me in 2.5 years. Sorry, I wish I could tell you that pixy dust and tequila would make it all go away, but so far either I haven’t got the mixture right or it ain’t working.

I found that riding whatever whatever you like to ride does seem to lesson the severity of the down swing. For Paul it is a bicycle for me a motorcycle for you I assume a horse. Just feeling the wind and feeling alive helps.

Great news about your check up and I pray they all are the same.

Blessing
Mac

Dear Lisa; Just the thought of doing a test and waiting for the results gets me into an anxious mood. One good thing that happened to me about a month ago. I had an ultra sound of my breasts and saw the surgeon right after. He was able to give me the results right that very day. Blood work can also be determined right away. Now why can’t they do that with CT’s, MRI’s & Bone scans? In today’s modern medical world, you would think they could atleast do that. It would save a lot of travel time for the patient, agonizing worry and money. But oh noooooo it just isn’t happening so far.
I wish you best of luck on the results.
Keep up your great spirit.

Hi Lisa,

I read your post this morning and thought how amazing for you to be able to be around animals, especially a turtle. I bet you it is so healing for you. Animals and so wonderful and gentle. I hug my 120lb german shepperd when I have anxiety. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Love Kathleen

Hi there,

I never will understand why it takes so long to get the results of any test.

Hug be cool ( oops that is telling my age. LOL

Gosh Lisa, your heart rate was 112. You were having anxiety, weren’t you? It may take a while but it will get better one day. I can’t get my heart rate above 100 anymore even when I exercise or walk. It doesn’t get into the 90’s very often. Of course, I am taking blood pressure meds. That might be why.
Take care, my friend.
Hugs, Joyce
