Quick updateViews: 660

I’ve been doing really well. Getting out more and enjoying life. Tuesday I went back to the doctor to check my hormone levels, and a surprise “pap smear.” I saw my rad onc, and she decided to go ahead and do one since its been 2 months since treatment. I’m still waiting for those results. Despite my denial, my ovaries are not working, so they say its time to start taking hormones. I’ve tasked my doctor to find something that is not animal based. I’m looking forward to it a bit. Hopefully I’ll stop having hot flashes and night sweats, and be able to sleep better.

Love to all!

XOXO

Hi Lisa,
I’m glad to hear you are doing well and getting out more.
Don’t you just love those little surprises the doctors throw at ya!
Hoping those test results come back with good news for you!

Hugs,
Wendy

Hello Lisa,
I do hope that you begin to shed off all of these nasty symptoms really soon. Good luck to be. Be well & Happy,
XOXOX,
Patty

Just want to say hello and have a good week.

Hi Lisa

Hey, I had cervical cancer with radiation/chemo as well. It took about 4-5 months for my ovaries to start working right again…you might want to hold off on starting hormone replacement so soon. I had the night sweats and hot flashes as well. Slowly but surely the menopausal symptoms diminished. I am coming up on my 45th BD and haven’t had a hot flash since…which has been 4 years now. So I am happy to see that you are doing better and getting out. Stay good care of yourself and keep us posted!

Hi, Lisa.
It’s nice to hear that you are doing well and enjoying life! I am sure you are also doing well being back at work. I’m also experiencing hot flashes and night sweats induced by chemo, and they are no fun for sure! Hope you will find something that can help you with these symptoms.

Dear Lisa; Glad to hear the news. I have a question…. Why would your Dr.’s subscribe hormone pills. Any one with breast cancer is given a pill to deplete all estrogen, to try to stop the spread of cancer. I don’t understand. Please enlighten me. Thanks.
Weezie

Hi Lisa,

Read your blogs….I am in the middle of rad and chemo. Seeing you make it through, gives me hope that things get back to normal…whatever that may be. I hope and pray that your “fight” is over and 2008 will someday be your survival story!

Blessings and HOPE-Denita

Weezie,
From what I have read cervical cancer does not feed off estrogen like breast and uterine cancers. I don’t understand, I would think it would as well. Since I am 28 the doctors want me to take hormones until I am at least 40 to try to prevent excessive bone loss. However, after what bearadina said I told my Dr I would like to wait about 6 more months to see if my ovaries do recover. I also read about other women who did regain ovarian function in 6-12 months after treatments. I hope it comes back! I take enough pills already! LOL!

LISA,
DO YOU HAVE A DOGGIE? I HAVE TO SAY THAT MAGGIE HAS BEEN A SUPER CHALLENGE THIS PAST WEEK AND I AM REALLY TRYING TO HARD TO MAKE THIS WORK. SHE IS SO FULL OF GINGER, DOESN’T SEEM TO WANT TO PAY ATTENTION BUT THE WORSE PART IS THAT I HAVE THAT HEAVY PLASTIC TYPE (NEVER NEEDS PAINTING) PICKET FENCING IN MY FRONT. SHE HAS DISCOVERED IT AND WILL SLIP RIGHT UNER THAT FENCE AND MAKE A RUN FOR ACROSS THS STREET. I HAVE ALREADY PUT THAT REALLY SMALL WIRE ( I CANNOT REMEMBER THE EXACT NAME FOR IT, BUT THE WIRE ITSELF HAS SQUARES THAT ARE ONLY ABOUT 1/8” INCH BETWEEN EACH BLOCK, WELL, I DID IT ALONG MY BREEZEWAY FOR SHE HAD DISCOVERED THAT BUT SHE HAS JUST DISCOVERED ANOTHER ESCAPE AND HERE I AM RUNNING DOWN THE STREET WITH MY PJ PANTS ON WITH JAMMY SLIPPPERS) A LOOK TO DIE FOR, NO WONDER I AM SINGLE. HEHEHE i GOT THE LAST PART OF IT AT HOME DEPOT AND WHEN I WENT BACK THEY WERE OUT OF THE FLESH COLORED TIES, ALL THEY HAD WERE A COMBO PACK OF BRIGHT ORANGE, GREEN, YELLOW, ETC. I WANT TO DOWNPLAY THIS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE FOR I LOVE MY PICKET FENCE. THOUGH I DO HAVE A STAPLE GUN AND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAD SUGGESTED I USED THAT,THOUGH IT WOULD BE MUCH EASIER, I DON’T WANT HOLES IN MY FENCE THOUGH WHEN YOU BUY THOSE ROLES OF WIRE I HAVE TO ROLL THEM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION THEN SIT SOMETHING VERY HEAVY ON IT ALL FOR SEVERAL HOURS, THEN TO CUT THE WIRE IN HALF IS REALLY TOUGH ON MY HANDS, I HAVE ALL OF THESE CUTS, BETWEEN DOING THAT AND MAGGIE ACCIDENTLY SCRATCHING ME, MY HANDS ARE A MESS, BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT SHE HAS VERY LONG QUICKS IN HER NAILS SO SHE WILL HAVE TO BE CUT ABOUT ONCE WEEKLY. BUT, I HAVE A DOLL OF A FRIEND THAT DID MY MUFFY FOR THE 19 YEARS WE HAD HER AND SHE IS REALLY SPECIAL AND VERY REASONABLE.
i AM AT A POSITION WHRE i AM WONDERING IF i DID THE RIGHT THING WITH ADOPTING AN ACTIVE PUPPY. IT TRULY WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHTM BUT REALIZTICALLY SHE IS LIKE HAVING A TODDLER FOR WHEN SHE SEES I AM ON THE PHONE IT’S LIKE SHE KNOWS, AND SHE WWILL GET INTO THINGS THAT SHE KNOWS SHE ISN’T SUPPOSE TO, THEN I FINALLY END THE CALL WITH A PROMISE THAT I’LL CALL THEM BACK. SHE IS EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD ABOUT GOING INTO HER CRATE AT NIGHT SO I CAN GET A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP, THOUGH I WENT TO BED @ 9PM, FOR I HAVE A LOW GRADE FEVER AND WAS HAVING TERRIBLE BONE PAIN, BUT THE PAIN IS KEEPING ME FROM GETTING ANY REST, I HAVE GOT HER OUT 3 TIMES SO FAR AND LET HER OUT TO GO #1, SHE’S REALLY GOOD AT THAT. i HAVE A BELL ON THE BACK DOOR AND SHE WILL NUDGE IT WHEN SHE HAS TO GO. SO, I DO THINK SHE IS SMART, SHE IS JUST REALLY SILLY. I’M JUST GOING TO HAVE TO KICK MY DEAD BUTT IN GEAR ND GO AND GET THIS STUFF AND BUILD MY FORTRESS. i DO NOT WANT TO TIE HER UP FOR SHE WENT CRAZY THE FIRST DAY THAT I BROUGHT HER HOME AND SHE JUST RAN IN CIRCLES LIKE A CRAZY LITTLE THINK HER LITTLE EARS WERE JUST FLYING IN THE AIR, IT WAS ALMOST LIKE SHE WAS SAYING,: YOU MEAN ALL OF THIS IS MINE? ( HER FORMER OWNER DID NOT HAVE A FENCED YARD AND WOULD HAVE TO TAKE HER OUT EACH TIME BY LEACH, i WANT HER TO ENJOY MY BIG TARD, iT’S MORE THAN 339’DEEP, WHICH IS ALOT OF GRASS TO CUT. I’M JUST A BIT CONFISUED TONIGHT AND WONDERING IF I AM GDOING HER AN INJUSTICE FOR IF I GOT SICK SHE WOULD HAVE TO GO TO THE DOGGIE DAY CARE. i LOVE mAGGIE SO MUCH i JUST HOPE IT ALL WORKS OUT.
BE WELL & BE HAPPY.
XOXOX,PATTY

Dear Lisa,
How very incredibly nice of you for your invite. I feel as though perhaps I shouldn’t have even asks my fellow cacner friends for such an imposition, but the thought of being totally alone is a bit overwhelming to me.
Please e-mail me you feel up to it and we can talk about particulars. Like where in the world is Navasota? LoL….. Bhappy4ever6@Aol.com
Is it that you heard that I am really a good cook? No, that can’t be it for those are some of my little known secrets. It was you being very selfless and sweet. Either way, you certainly made me smile. I look foward to hearing from you. But, take care of yourself first.
XOXO, Patty

Prayers to you Lisa,
You are a strong and brave soul.
And yes, pets(dogs) are good for your emotional being..They can take away a lot of pain just by sitting and stroking there little fuzzy fur. God bless you in every way..
Many blessings to you..
Robin
